Second time around. I am no wiser now as to why I got ejected from this group, than I was two years ago, when I was hounded off a writing site by a group of friends of the site idol.
Ideas. Friends of mine put forward the idea that the people involved feel threatened by my stories, and growing popularity. This was certainly the case on the former site. My popularity grew because I promised no favours. Only a good read. Perhaps, my stories are that good, but to think that would need me to be arrogant, and I am anything but arrogant.
Gifted. I see myself as no more than a mere story teller, perhaps there is more to my gift than I acknowledge. Like the great actors, perhaps I can transport an audience to new places, and the ease with which I do it, is seen as a threat. I cannot help it, if I am a great teller of tales.
Genres. Many authors stick to the genre the feel most comfortable in. Not so for me, I am constantly pushing the paper out, and trying new genres, some like the Sci-Fi hit Forgestriker succeed, others like the Erotica of Sexual Explosions fail.
Contests. These people who consider me a threat, probably feel they are in a popularity contest against me. I don't see things in that way. I am happy to tell/write my stories purely to entertain readers, or listeners, and hopefully make a few dollars at the same time. My view is, we are writers in the same boat, and if one does well, we all do well.
