I am old school and proud of it. The story matters more than anything to me.
In these modern times, the days when a good story teller could sit and hold an audience captive are past, in my opinion. Literature has descended to a level where the story has no meaning unless there are mass zombie plagues, or cheap porn.
I went into a book shop yesterday -- I wasn't looking for anything in particular -- I could find masses of zombie stories ad cheap porn books, but very few ghost stories.
I made my on line rep writing ghost stories like http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EPGKFR8 / http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EXRTC3W /
The Ghost of St. Mary's & the ever popular Old Church Ghosts -- now available in a special edition -- which features all of the published versions. One of which was only on line for a week or two at Halloween 2011(my first story published).
I find it hard to write porn -- even though those stories sell -- because my stories depend on character growth and interaction. If sex/love is in the story, it is there because I think the story needs it and not just to pad the pages.
