My close friend, Ruth, is amazed at the way I have learned to cope with the effects of disability. In the space of a year, I have gone from being able to walk freely - but painfully - to being almost house bound, and yet I haven't given up the fight to keep going.
When I learned I had #EDS http://www.ehlers-danlos.org/ I won't deny I was horrified, but I soon learned to accept the inevitable truth that one day I would be in a wheelchair.
The acceptance of my situation gave my the will to carry on my life as best I could for as long as I could. I'd be silly to say there aren't times when I feel like giving in to my fate. I've gone from visiting @Cheltenham once a month, to being stuck in my room - there is no denying it hurts.
The bottom line reads:- I know what is coming, and I think I am prepared, only time will tell.
