The pen IS mightier than the sword- if we fight, and you wound me, only the people nearby will know. It may take time, but I will get over there is a good chance I will get over the injury, and go on with my life.
If I write an article attacking you, I have no idea how many people - or where they are - will read my words. The article will stay active, and each new reader is another cut to you.
The TravelWest incident.
Last week a group of Muslim extremists proved common sense is essential, if you are to win the minds of people. These people hacked into a webpage called TravelWest thinking it was an airline site for the Western world, and they could ground the planes.
I will ignore ridiculing the inane idea such a site exists, even if it wasn't a major security risk.
To my knowledge there are at least three German internal airlines, and the same in the UK. I won't even make an attempt to guess how many in the USA, or Canada. Then, once you get to flights between countries the variations increase depending on your departure and arrival points.
TravelWest is a Bristol based coach firm, so the effect on people in Bristol was minimal at the best. It wouldn't even annoy any visitors in January.
Effect on western airlines - NIL
These people had the knowledge to hack a site, yet lacked the intelligence to check the site out.
With more and more Muslims coming to the conclusion they need to play catch-up, or be left behind. The old ways are fading, I am not saying you should disregard your beliefs. You should try to adapt them to the world you live in.
This is the 21st Century, women have rights; whippings and stoning to death belong in the history of the middle ages. If you wish to be a part of the modern world accept it.
