Now available from GooglePlay play.google.com/store/books/author?id=Alan%20Place&hl=en is my new Jewish romance e-book
I can understand why people don't approve of young women on webcam sites I didn't for a long time.
In recent times, I had one of my blogs spammed by a Muslim site from Egypt. The irony being they can't do it in public but online these men flood the internet.
Even though I don't approve of the sites, I have come to value them for my blogs, as there are times I think these are the only links I make, especially on Twitter.
I've said at each turn, that being an Indie writer I need to weigh outgoings against the possible income - that's why until last week I'd never bought a cover.
My luxury item
I knew in my heart when I bought this cover than it would probably not pay for itself this year - if at all - but I wanted at least one nice cover in my stock.
Even though I only put up half the money - the rest came from my failed GoFundMe appeal - I still need to sell ten copies of the book to cover MY costs.
You'd think with eight sales platforms on Draft2Digital www.draft2digital.com/book/235628, the various aspects of Smashwords www.smashwords.com/books/view/719595 and the mighty site at Amazon www.amazon.com/dp/B071CSVHFD that selling a measly ten copies would be easy, but no book outside the Forgestriker series has sold even five copies in over three years on Draft2Digital.
This shows desperation
A sign of how bad things are for me, I now have a Smashwords profile page
www.smashwords.com/profile/view/Alan1956York. I joined many years ago, but I never liked the site and didn't use it.
Each year, the magazine Jewish Quarterly gives an award jewishquarterly.org/jq-wingate-prize/ to a writer whose story has general appeal with a Jewish theme.
It would be nice to see Aliyah www.amazon.com/dp/B071CSVHFD nominated as I wrote the story with my Jewish friends in mind.
For some time, I've known I had a number of sales in Germany, but I never realized until last week that I have a strong following in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark too
Scandinavia is going well for me

Acts 20: 35
Is it better to give than to recieive?
For years I selflessly helped others and never got a thank you in return.
Now, as a writer, I am writing stories that people read (I hope) and yet my e-book sales keep dropping, no matter how well these blogs are read.
As my Jewish friends celebrate Passover, I am again reminded of the things I didn't have that others take for granted.
The main part of the celebration is the Passover Seder where the generations gather to tell the story of the escape from Egypt.
At our house, that would have been a small gathering as we moved far from my home in Yorkshire.
My family has never been more than two generations of people because of this move.
How views change
Over the past several years, my views on air travel have changed a lot.
When my friend Faye died, I used to look at the trails in the skies and wish I could go back to Canada, to say a proper farewell.
Then I went through a stage of loathing the people who could afford to travel, and now I look up at the sky and the trails mean nothing to me.
