This looks good, until you see the covers-half naked men and women, with titles which left little to the imagination. And here was I, under the illusion indie writers were fighting to rid ourselves of the tag as cheap porn pedallers.
Sticking a naked body on a cover is only doing harm to the vast number of us who ARE trying to avoid this stigma.
OR DOES IT?
This year in an attempt to get some sales for my work, I wrote an erotica story http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008BK1WDK and an erotic love story http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EZ84216 and neither sold more than a copy and then only because I put Sexual Explosions 1 on a site where the lady asked for erotic stories.
THE 'Z' WORD
As a final desperate attempt to try and get a sale, I sold my soul to the dime and wrote a zombie story; partially to see if I could and partially to see if a story in the most popular genre might sell-I achieved the first part, but failed in the second as http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GCRPH6C has not sold a single copy to date.
I am beginning to think that if I can't sell in the two genres which are most popular and trashy, where can I? As I am out of options now.
