Forgestriker. The first complaint was aimed at my top selling e-book.The man complaining said the story didn't have any meaning, and the first five pages were a waste. He even called me a fraud. I guess I can't please all the people. Over 40 people disagree with his views. If he had read the title on B&N, I clearly stated this is book 2 in a series. I am no brainiac, but surely that would indicate there is book 1, and this follows on from that story.
Part-work, or the novel. The other complaint I can agree in part with, as the person complained about buying sections, not the whole. However, I had written two novellas previously (Chronicles of Mark Johnson & Wharfemere Finale), and they didn't sell.
My reasons for doing the part-works are:- A) With the failure of the novellas, I was loathe to devote a large chunk of time & energy on another book which might not sell. B) Current trends in reading show smaller books sell better. C) I did want some monies back for the hours I spend writing, or is that unacceptable to the readers. Would you work several hours a day for less than the price of a meal? No, and yet you expect writers to do it.
