A few nights ago, I wanted to watch one of my favourite detectives -- John Rebus (Ken Stott) --, as I couldn't find my DVDs, I decided to watch CSI Miami instead. After a couple of episodes of Miami, I crossed the Atlantic and landed in Denmark.
My interest moved to the popular series The Bridge, a good series, but too many it won't appeal as it's subtitled. The grit and grime of Nordic Noire is a far cry from the glamour & pretty people of Miami.
One of my daughters asked why I wasn't as keen on Miami, as I am on LV or NY. The reason is I don't like to have to watch a show and be bombarded with rap music.
After leaving Stockholm, I landed in the grey and gloomy Edinburgh of DI Rebus. A place more distant from the sun & high life of Miami is hard to imagine.
In Miami, they have jet-skis, private landing strips and masses of money. Here life is about the next meal.
