I hope to share my growing reputation as a writer with you on this page.
Four months on.
After four months, my verdict is that although I feel appreciated. I feel I may soon come to the point of no return and quit. I can't compete with Asians who'll undercut you as soon as look at you, and who work for next to nothing.
My reputation is growing so quickly on #upwork that clients are seeking me out.
I may not being being seen, or being interviewed, as much as many of my fellow writers but I am being hired more than the average for the group.
After four months, I have concluded reputation means little. I have passed more tests, and have a larger portfolio than many of my competitors; not to mention I'm about half their price and still nothing happens.
I won't lie to you, the financial aspect of being a ghostwriter outweighs the money I make doing my work greatly.
The past four years have been a struggle to keep going, and even with the help of some good friends, many is the time I came close to quitting.
One of the great questions I ask myself is Am I a good writer? The sales of my series http://alsdomain.weebly.com/forgestriker---the-hit-series.html#.VrMktbKLTIU should have been enough for me but with only one book doing well out of the series of seven, and the same book selling almost half my total sales, I kept asking the question.
This month I made more doing my ghostwriting on https://www.upwork.com/find-work-home as I did in the last two years writing my own stories. The one thing that makes it worthwhile is the thanks I get from most of my clients, you obviously get those who think they are doing you a favor (mainly Asians).
While there is the upside of getting paid to write, there is also a downside. Being a ghostwriter means my rep as a #writer doesn't benefit from this venture. My books are still struggling to sell.
A question I get asked is why be a ghostwriter if your name isn't on the writing?
My answer is easy to understand. As a ghostwriter, I get paid no matter what happens to the stories I write. To put this into context, I spent over a year writing my ghost romance, and it hasn't sold a copy https://www.draft2digital.com/book/34522. I expect this book will end up like my award-winning Chronicles of Mark Johnson in the rubbish pile.
