One side says I can end the book soon, even though this will do neither me nor the story any justice.
And the other side says continue the story to its proper ending.
Solution A, although not satisfactory will mean less morale damage should the book fail and solution B although a rightful thing to do, might end up with terrible damage after involving a lot more time to the story.
