Although my work has been praised since, and many people have commented on the vast improvement in my style over the last year. I think, no matter what plaudits, awards, or trophies may come my way, I will forever be looked on as an inferior writer by other writers. Even though I know I am better than some.
Less talented -- certainly not -- at least one of the people I consider myself better than writes fanfiction. She has a market, I have to make one for my work.
Imagination-most people who read my work love the varied scenarios. I had one series praised by a former police sergeant for its authentic style.
The reason my work will be looked down on is I am poor and cannot afford publicity or good covers.
To quote the line from Billy Bennett's song She was poor, but she was honest . "It's the same the whole world over. It's the poor what gets the blame. It's the rich what gets the pleasure. Isn't it a blooming shame?"
The answer to the question, in my view. Talent does NOT count any more. The only thing which does count is money.
