I've been in some of the largest groups on Facebook and as the saying goes - It's the nature of the beast - I found that the larger the group, the more impersonal it became with few of the people willing to chat unless you were a NYTimes best seller.
Freebies and Anthologies
Some will tell you that the KDP free weekend is a great way to get sales moving - they never worked for me - I did several.
I have work in several anthologies other than our #Charity books alsdomain.weebly.com/the-peacock-writers and contrary to popular opinion they have done nothing to help my sales.
I can't do low price offers for my e-books because they are already at rock bottom prices alsdomain.weebly.com/barnes--noble.html to attempt to get some sales.
These are a pet peeve of mine. Again, I have done several with no effect - some people don't even thank you - for helping their promotion.
For about three years, I promoted - at no cost - the books of friends on my blog. One person had his sales rise from 20 a month to more than 250 a month. Another man I helped got a contract because I wrote the blurb for his story and a young lady I helped got her series off to a flying start with my help. What did I get in return - not even a thank you email.
There are two things you need to succeed and I have neither. They are money and connections.
I always recall how British comedian Blaster Bates www.independent.co.uk/news/obituaries/blaster-bates-415620.html defined an expert. Ex being former; spurt being a drip under pressure LOL
