By the end of last year, I had accepted that no matter what I wrote, the outcome was not in my hands. That's why I don't worry about my lack of sales anymore - I can't do anything about the situation.
The situation on Upwork is the same with clients telling writers I'll give the work to the lowest bidder or I'll give the work to the person with the lowest rate.
It isn't hard enough with Asians undercutting me but to have clients encouraging the tactic is not something I can condone.
In the beginning it was painful not writing every day, but as time wore on the hardest part became finding the urge to write with the knowledge I was wasting my talents as a writer. Somewhere between the urge to drive, and the thought of an idea, I built a wall so high that I can't get over.
